It’s very important that you level-up your skills as it really improves your scores and often makes the difference between an ‘A’ and ‘S’. Not to mention the advantage in the Stylist’s Arena.
You can upgrade and learn more about your skills by going to on your profile as showed below. Upgrading your skills will cost you gold and the higher the level the more expensive it gets. Don’t forget to tap on the arrow to check out all the skills available.
Each skill can either attack your opponent, reflect their attack or defends you from their attack. As you upgrade your skills the cooldown time decreases and the effects increase. The descriptions below are a simplified version of the official description, for more specifics, you can tap and hold on each skill and you’ll see the exact % effect etc..:)
Smile: Increases your score by a certain %
Picky Immune: Let’s you ignore your opponent’s ‘Critical Eye’ – It protects from ‘Critical Eye’
Critical Eye: Decreases your opponent’s score by a certain %
Picky Bounce: Reflects your opponent’s Critical Eye. So when the opponent tries to decrease your score with Critical Eye, their score gets lowered instead!
Charming: Increases the next style’s score by a certain %.
Note: this skill increases the score for the next ‘style’ that is being judged. The styles are judged in a random order so it’s difficult to be able to increase the style you know you’ll get a high score on. It’s regardless one of my favourite skills.
Gift (Arena only): Your opponent loses their sock for a period of time.
Note: When the opponent ‘loses’ their sock, the socks will not be part of their outfit for a certain period of time. And during that period of time, their score will not be as high as it would have been as the socks will not be ‘counted’ towards their score.
Gift immune: Protects your sock. This skill is only useful when the opponent uses ‘Gift’.
Gift Bounce (Arena only): Reflects Gift. So when the opponent tries to make you lose your socks, they lose theirs instead!
Clock (Arena only): Your opponent loses their shoes for a period of time.
Note: When the opponent ‘loses’ their shoes, the shoes will not be part of their outfit for a certain period of time. And during that period of time, their score will not be as high as it would have been as the shoes will not be ‘counted’ towards their score.
Clock Immune: Protects your shoes from ‘Clock’. So you don’t lose your shoes if the opponent uses ‘Clock’.
Cinderella (Arena only): Reflects ‘Clock’. So when the opponent tries to make you lose your shoes, they lose theirs instead!
Sleeping: Makes your opponent sleep. When your opponent is asleep they cannot ‘attack’ or ‘defend’.
True Love: May remove ‘Sleeping’.
Note: Some skills can only be used in the Arena (Stylist’ Arena) so you cannot select them in the storyline challenges. HOWEVER, in the storyline challenges, the opponent does have these skills. So for example you will not be able to select ‘Clock’ as one of your skills but your opponent will have it. Which I find really unfair but that’s the game:)
To choose which skill you want to play with, tap on the ‘Skill’ button on the bottom left of your screen before beginning the challenge:) you get to select up to 4 skills.
My favourite Skills in the storyline are Smile, Critical Eye, Charming, and Sleeping. I mostly use these skills as I find that it’s the perfect combination of attack and defend skills for me. I’ve focused on upgrading these skills and my Charming is now at the maximum level, I get to increase one of my scores by 40%!
In the Arena I use Smile, Critical Eye, Charming, and Clock. Note that in the Arena challenges the game automatically plays the skill as opposed to when you play the storyline challenges. You choose which skill you want to have but once you ‘Get Dressed’ the computer decides when each skill is used.
Hope this guide is helpful and let me know which skill works best for you:)!
